We proved our youthful courage with a Halloween dash through the village cemetery. Later I stood confused as Grandad in a box was lowered into his grave. It didn't appear that anybody was going to explain these things to me and that it is up to each of us to figure death out for ourselves. My mother took me at age fifteen to watch an autopsy, and that made it all pretty clear. What else can we pass on to one another except the knowledge of death. Breyton Breytenbach
